Three South Australians have progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Nationals today after yesterday’s results. Petra Hule was the standout player of the day defeating 5th seed Jessica Brzozowska from Victoria 6/4, 6/3 and then she defeated West Australian qualifier Sara Stikic 6/2, 6/0.
Petra has drawn number 3 seed and Junior Newcombe Medal finalist Destanee Aiava.
Thanasi Kokkinakis and Brad Mousley both continued there winning form going through their pool undefeated. Thanasi defeated Victorian Daniel Guccione 6/4,6/3 and Brad Mousley won his third 3 set match for the week defeating Nick Horton 7/6 in the 3rd. Jack Schipanski and Nicole Kreamer both lost in 3 sets and failed to progress to the Quarter Finals.
Thanasi will play Victorian Marc Polmans and Brad will play Omar Jasika in the Quarter Final today.
In the 18s Doubles SA has four athletes in the Semi Finals – Thanasi & Jack, Brad Mousley and his partner Nick Kyrgios and Brooke Rischbieth and her partner Lizette Cabrera.
In the 14s Doubles SA has 4 players remaining in the draw (Brooke Milner, Petra Hule, Nicole Kreamer & Joonky Nah).
