National Academy Athlete Brad Mousley has continued his amazing run in Doubles since August last year winning his 4th International Junior Doubles Title.

Since August Brad has won 26 out 29 matches that include the Oceania Closed B2 ITF in Fiji, the Oceania Closed B1 Closed in Korea, the Australian Open Juniors in Melbourne and just this week the Chang LTAT ITF Junior Grade 1 in Thailand.  Brad also progressed to the Round of 16 in the singles. After this week in Thailand Brad is now ranked 44 in the World for juniors.

Brad’s Coach National Head Coach – SA – Milo Bradley who is with Brad in Asia said “these are invaluable matches for Brad as we prepare ourselves for the upcoming European swing which includes the Junior French Open and Junior Wimbledon”.

Over the Labour Day Long weekend Tennis SA conducted a tour to the 2013 Victorian Junior Claycourt Championships held in Dingley, Melbourn.  Seven female athletes from SA travelled with Talent Development Coach Sharon Hambly and National Academy Manager Rohan Fisher.

Amber Marshall won five matches to take the 12/U Singles title. Amber then combined with fellow South Australian Isabella Ryles to take out the Doubles against Madison Bishop (SA) and her partner Celine Southern. Isabella Ryles finished 3rd in the singles, Madison Bishop finished 5th in the singles and Tayla Whitehouse won 4 matches in the Consolation singles to take this out in the 12/U’s.

Jeanette Lin progressed to the 14/U Final. Petra Hule came 3rd in the 14s, Selina Turulja finished 6th. Selina combined with Tahlia Van Der Eerden to progress to the 14s Doubles Final. The girls were unable to complete the final due to schedule changes with the extreme heat over the weekend and as a result had to catch their flight home to Adelaide.

National Academy Manager Rohan Fisher was extremely excited about the results over the weekend. “This weekend has been a great launching pad for the upcoming Claycourt season throughout Australia and abroad”.  Fisher said “ with only 4 claycourts in SA we are unable to really compete on clay, so we need these matches”.

Fisher  said “All girls here will head to the National Claycourts in Ipswich over April, so this has been the perfect lead up”.
