Chloe Hule has capped off a successful week at the recent Gosford Junior International by winning both the singles and doubles event. The ITF 18/u event held on the New South Wales central coast hosted competitors from across the globe including Germany, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore all competing for internationally recognised points.
Hule started the week as the number one seed in the draw and lived up to expectations by winning through to the final without dropping a set. Hule’s opponent in the final was Stephanie Yamada of New South Wales who proved a tough opponent with the match lasting well into the second hour before Hule closed out her first ITF singles title 7-5 7-5. South Australians Olivia Ley and Nicole Kraemer also featured heavily in the singles event with Ley winning through to the semi-final and Kraemer making the quarter-finals.
The celebrations for Hule’s singles success were short lived as she and her sister Petra Hule partnered together to compete in the doubles final against sixth seeds Sonja Balic and Linda Huang. The doubles final was another tough match with the Hule sisters combining to win 6-1 6-3.
Physical Performance Coach of South Australia Daniel Buberis said ’Chloe showed a lot of courage to fight back from 1-4 in the second set and the victory is a result of hard work she has been putting in on the training track recently.’
