The AO Blitz will appear at the Mount Gambier Show on Friday 25 October as the largest participation drive in Australian tennis history arrives in South Australia.

The AO Blitz is a national competition that allows people who play tennis – and those who have never picked up a racquet – the chance to win major prizes and have an Australian Open 2014 player represent their local town.

The AO Blitz is comprised of two parts – free community tennis days and an online interactive competition at www.aoblitz.com.au.

In the lead-up to Australian Open 2014 the AO Blitz will be visiting communities in every state and territory of the country, encouraging Australians of all ages and tennis abilities to pick up a racquet and have a hit.

This Friday the AO Blitz will visit the Mount Gambier Show, Mount Gambier Showground, Fifth Avenue, Mount Gambier from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Locals will have the chance to participate in a range of free tennis activities including:

  • Photo opportunities with the Australian Open trophies – the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup (men’s singles trophy) and Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup (women’s singles trophy)
  • MLC Tennis Hot Shots – modified tennis designed especially for children
  • Cardio Tennis – new tennis fitness workout
  • Plus fun giveaways to take home

**At the Mount Gambier AO Blitz stop we will be fundraising for our charity partners the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
