7 November 2013 | Tennis SA

The AO Blitz will appear at the Littlehampton Tennis Club on Friday 8 November as the largest participation drive in Australian tennis history continues in South Australia.

The AO Blitz is a national competition that allows people who play tennis – and those who have never picked up a racquet – the chance to win major prizes and have an Australian Open 2014 player represent their local town.

The AO Blitz is comprised of two parts – free community tennis days and an online interactive competition at www.aoblitz.com.au.

In the lead-up to Australian Open 2014 the AO Blitz will be visiting communities in every state and territory of the country, encouraging Australians of all ages and tennis abilities to pick up a racquet and have a hit.

On Friday the AO Blitz will visit Littlehampton Tennis Club, Anembo Park, Littlehampton SA 5250 from 3.30pm – 7.30pm.

Locals will have the chance to participate in a range of free activities including:

  • Photo opportunities with the Australian Open trophies – the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup (men’s singles trophy) and Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup (women’s singles trophy)
  • MLC Tennis Hot Shots – modified tennis designed especially for children
  • Cardio Tennis – new tennis fitness workout
  • Speed Serve, jumping castle, face painters
  • Plus fun giveaways to take home
