About the Opportunity
AFL SportsReady currently has an exciting position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in the sport industry.
In this position, you will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady for a 12 months duration and undertake a traineeship with an accredited Certificate III Sport and Recreation qualification.
Working for our Host Employer; Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club the successful trainee will receive paid on the job training and education.
Reporting to the Centre Manager at Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club the primary purpose of this role will be to work across multiple areas throughout the facility; including the customer service area, memberships, competition organisation / resulting and social media. Applicants with a strong interest in tennis are encouraged to apply as some coaching will be required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service, both in person and over the phone
- Communicate with clients and colleagues
- Complete administration tasks, accept customer bookings for programs and services
- Market and promote the centres programs and services to customers
- Service the cafe and retail part of the centre
- Manage social media content
- Process competition results
- Capacity to do some Tennis coaching.
Skills & Experience
- Strong interest in sport, recreation and fitness
- Strong interest and/or experience in Tennis
- Computer skills especially social media
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work in a team
- Must be an Australian Citizen

This position would be best suited to a young person who is about to complete secondary school and is looking for a gap year. Alternatively, it may suit a first year University student with flexible hours. People with tertiary qualifications need not apply.
