Round one of qualifying was completed today in sweltering conditions at West Lakes, causing three players to retire.

It was a day of success for South Australia with local youngsters Darren Polkinghorne, Lawrence Bataljin and Brad Mousley all moving through to the second round of qualifying.

Mousley was the story of the day taking down French first seed Maxime Chazal 6-0 6-2. The win is a further boost to Mousley’s confidence after he made the Semi Final of the Junior Australian Open only a week ago.
