In qualifying matches this morning, the Australian contingent of Jacob Grills (Vic), Andrew Harris (Vic) and Andrew Wittington (Vic) successfully navigated their way to the main draw, where they will be joined by Maxime Authom (FRA).
Following the completion of qualifying matches, Australian wildcard Omar Jasika and number one seed Blaz Rola (SLO), opened main draw proceedings on Centre Court. Jasika got off to a flying start winning the first set 6-4,before Rola won the second and third sets 6-4 6-1 respectively. South Australian Alex Bolt then took to Centre Court, defeating Guido Andreozzi (ARG) in straight sets, 6-3 6-2. The final singles match on Centre Court for the day saw fourth seeded Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA) take on Andre Ghem (BRA), with Mathieu taking the win in striaight sets 7-6(2) 6-4.
In other main draw matches, [8] Marton Fucsovics (HUN) defeated Denys Molchanov (UKR) 7-6(2) 6-4, Ryan Harrison (USA) defeated Hyeon Chung (KOR) 6-7(5) 6-1 6-1 and Matteo Viola (ITA) defeated Philipp Petzschner (GER) 5-7 6-1 7-6(5).
Three doubles matches were also completed today, with number one seeds Alex Bolt (SA) and Andrew Wittington (Vic) defeating the Japanese pairing of Hiroki Moriya and Yoshihito Nishioka 6-2 6-2. In other matches, the wildcard pairing of Luke Saville (SA) and Jordan Thompson (NSW) defeated the second seeded Ratiwatana brothers, Sanchai and Sonchat, 6-7(9) 6-2 10-2 and Andrey Kuznetsov (RUS) and Aleksandr Nedovyesov (KAZ) defeated fourth seeded German pairing Philipp Petzschner and Tim Puetz 7-6(4) 0-6 10-8.
Matches will start at 10:00am tomorrow, with main draw singles and doubles, headlined by South Australian Luke Saville and number two seed, Marcos Baghdatis (CYP).
