Sports Vouchers is a State Government initiative administered by the Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS). The program is an opportunity for primary school age children from Reception to Year 7 to receive a $50 discount on sports club/membership fees.

All children in South Australia will receive a letter from the Premier at school, during weeks 2-4 of Term 1 2015 informing them of Sports Vouchers and how it works. Associations, Clubs and providers can then offer a $50 discount on joining fees and recover that money directly from ORS.

The purpose is to increase the number of children playing organised sport and reduce the costs to parents.

Tennis SA has sent an email to all of our affiliated Associations and Clubs recommending that you all register with the Sports Voucher Program. Following registration, we recommend that you contact all Association and Club current, past and potential members to advise them that they can utilise this offer on their tennis programs or competitions.

As many children play a variety of sports throughout their primary school years, Associations and Clubs are encouraged to be quick when informing their current, past and potential members to use their voucher for tennis as children will receive only one voucher.

Please note that the vouchers, valued at $50, will be available in 2015 for your members of primary school age. The $50 can be used towards membership fees which provide access to a sports program the duration of which is at least 10 weeks. The vouchers cannot be used for equipment purchase or a one-off ‘come and try’ type event.

Tennis SA suggest that your Association or Club consider using the vouchers for:

• Club subscriptions, including early bird payment for next Summer Season
• Association competition fees
• Hot Shots Leagues or Community Play
• Coaching programs that go for at least 10 weeks that will result in membership
