The Office of Recreation and Sport (ORS) has opened two funding programs – Active Club Program and Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program.
Both provide opportunities for the renovation or development of tennis facilities with The Active Club grant also providing up to $5000 for programs and equipment assistance. For further details, go to http://www.ors.sa.gov.au/funding/apply_for_funding
For those wishing to seek funds for facility development, please contact Tennis SA for assistance. As a start, actions that will provide a better opportunity to secure a successful application for funding are to:
- Ensure a cash contribution from the club making the application
- Gain support from your local council, other tenants and venue users, and the local community
- See technical advice and support from Tennis SA
- Promise to manage the project in an honest and professional manner
- Have sound plans for future income streams to ensure ongoing sustainability
