It’s been another fantastic day of tennis here at the 2015 Clare Valley Tennis International, with matches once again played in great conditions.
First to hit Centre Court was Australian fifth seed Jessica Moore who started her match strongly against top seed Su Jeong Jang (KOR), however Jang emerged on top after an epic three and a half hours, 6-7(4) 7-6(4) 6-3. Whilst on court 4, the day started with seventh seeded Austrian, Pia Konig, taking a comprehensive victory over second seed Na-Lae Han (KOR) 6-3 7-5.
In other matches, Jennifer Elie (USA) played well to defeat Mai Minokoshi (JPN) 6-2 6-3 and eighth seed Yan Wang (CHN) overcame Mana Ayukawa (JPN) in a tight match, 6-4 7-5.
The doubles final then brought the day to a close, with some sensational tennis on display. The unseeded pairing of Jennifer Elie (USA) and Jessica Moore (AUS) emerged victorious, taking home the 2015 Clare Valley Tennis International Doubles crown with a 6-3 7-5 win over the second seeds Mana Ayukawa (JPN) and Kotomi Takahata (JPN).
Day 8 will be singles semi-finals day to be headlined by number one seed Su Jeong Jang (KOR) first on Centre Court against Jennifer Elie (USA), followed by eighth seed Yan Wang (CHN) against seventh seed Pia Konig (AUT). Spectators are encouraged to attend, with free entry over the weekend.
