The weather continued it’s perfect conditions at the 2015 Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International yesterday, with strong performances in the Men’s and surprising results in the women’s.

In the women’s Aussie Jessica Moore came out very strong stating her presence winning against fellow Aussie Angelique Svinos 6-1 6-3.  While Junior Priscilla Hon was the second Aussie into the Quarter Finals. Hon seemed untroubled for majority of the match winning in the 3rd set convincingly 6-0 6-7 6-1 against Jenifer Elie (USA) who made it to the Semi Finals at the Clare Tennis International last week. The biggest upset of the day came when Liu Chang (CHN) put on a dominate performance after a bad start  knocking out the number one seed Hiroko Kuwata (JPN) in three sets 0-6 7-5 6-4.

In the men’s the seeds held strong with number one seed Brydan Klein (GBR) defeating Thomas Fancutt (AUS)  6-0 6-2,  number three seed Matt Reid (AUS) defeating Steven DeWaard (AUS) 6-3 6-2 and seventh seed Alexander Sarkissian (USA) who knocked out South Aussie Darren Polkinghorne who fell away in the second set after a well contested opening set 7-6 6-1 . the performance of the day came when South Aussie local Daniel Hobart won his spot into the Quarter Finals in front of a home crowd knocking of 8th seed Ryan Agar (AUS) 6-4 6-1. Hobart will now prepare for his biggest match to date against number one seed Brydan Klein who has been in top form coming off a win at last weeks  Coopers Adelaide Tennis International.

In the women’s doubles Aussie pairing Jessica Moore & Abbie Myers made their way into their second final in two weeks knocking off Na-Lae Han (KOR) & Su Jeong Jang (KOR) 6-1 6-1. The Aussie pairing will now look to win their second title on the South Australian swing against Chinese pairing Chang Liu & Ran Tian who knocked of number two seeds Hiroku Kuwata (JPN) & Yukki Tanaka (JPN) 6-3 6-2. In the men’s doubles Aussie pairing Matt Reid & Carsten Ball will also look to win their second title in two weeks making their way into the final with class downing fellow Aussie opponents Harry Bourchier & David Sofaer 6-3 6-1. Reid & Ball will take on Aussies Jacob Grills & Steven De Waard who won their match in straight sets against Thomas Fancutt & Mitchell Harper 6-2 6-1.

Matches scheduled to begin at 10:00am today, with Doubles Finals to be played not before 1:30pm
