Sunday 31 May saw East Torrens Kensington Gardens Tennis Club play host to Tennis SA’s ANZ Tennis Hot Shots French Slam.
The tournament attracted 56 children playing over Red, Orange and Green Ball divisions. With its modified environments, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots lets kids find success at tennis from a young age. The size of the court and racquet along with the compression of the ball (which alters bounce and speed in flight) are all designed to ensure players at each stage of development achieve success.
In a very close and entertaining final, Denver Bradford defeated Aaron Huynh 19 points to 14 to win the Red Ball 6 and 7 year olds division, whilst Kyle Zhang defeated Minh-Duc Nguyen 13-9 to win the Orange Ball 8 and under division.
In the Green Ball divisions, Connor Wallin defeated Erik Cokara 21 points to 13 to win the boys and Teagan White defeated Bridget Custance 12-8 to win the girls.
