Thursday 9 July saw Henley South Tennis Club play host to Tennis SA’s 2015 ANZ Tennis Hot Shots London Slam.
The tournament attracted a record 59 children playing over Red, Orange and Green Ball divisions. With its modified environments, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots lets kids find success at tennis from a young age. The size of the court and racquet along with the compression of the ball (which alters bounce and speed in flight) are all designed to ensure players at each stage of development achieve success.
In an entertaining final, Thomas Antoniadis defeated Denver Bradford 18 points to 11 to win the Red Ball 6 and 7 year olds division, whilst Jesse Rothgrew defeated Kyle Zhang 20-9 to win the Orange Ball 8 and under division. Bao-Nhi Nguyen played well to win her six round robin matches and
In the Green Ball divisions, Hamish Bartos defeated Mateja Novakovic 14 points to 6 to win the boys and Kate Brzostek defeated Indiana Walton 13-8 to win the girls.
