Tennis SA are excited to have such an experienced and successful female join the Board, and we asked her a few questions about her background to share with you;
What motivated you to become a Tennis SA Board Member?
The opportunity to combine my background in tennis with the knowledge and experience I have gained through my career to date, particularly in the area of corporate governance.
As an accomplished tennis player, can you please share two or three skills learnt in sport, which have been beneficial in your working career and/or vice versa?
I would say stamina, dedication and team work are skills learnt through tennis which have been beneficial in my working career. These skills have also helped me in my role as a Tennis SA Board member.
Why would you recommend someone join the Tennis SA Board?
This is a terrific opportunity for those with a genuine interest and passion for advancing the sport of tennis in South Australia to be a leader and to contribute to tennis in South Australia. Being a Tennis SA Board member enables me to make a genuine difference in a sport I love which I find really rewarding.
Why is Tennis SA focusing on gender?
The Tennis SA board is considering its diversity and inclusion strategies and is currently acting to improve its gender equality to meet certain ORS requirements but also because it is best practice, and it is the right thing to do. There is clear evidence that gender balance in key decision-making roles increases and improves outcomes and performance of organisations as well improves governance and decision-making
