Rounds four and five of the 2015 Junior ATL were held at the Millswood Tennis Complex on Sunday.
In the Boys draw, Hills and Glenelg Districts played in a very tight match, with Hills prevailing 4-2.
5 of the 6 rubbers played went to three sets, which took the duration of the match over 3 hours. Kristo Daminato from GDTA fought from a set down to defeat Matt Casey from HTA 2-4 4-3 4-3 to get his team on the board, but Brandon Wall and James May were too strong in the end claiming their doubles 4-1 4-2 against Pierce Hynes and Kristo Daminato.
SDTA had a 4-2 win against EDTA. Stan Karahalios and Stefan Bianchet had 4-0 4-1 wins over Callum Gale and Jack Wu to set-up the victory. David Jung fought hard for EDTA, claiming his singles 4-3 4-1 against Alex Bruschi, then combining with Jack Wu to defeat Stefan Bianchet and Alex Bruschi 4-1 4-0.
NETA had a 4-2 win against WDTA. Chris Hoang and Blake Lowen won their singles 4-2 4-2 and 4-1 4-1 against Nicholas Brown and Caleb Hansen respectively. Harrison Paton gave WDTA some hope heading into the doubles with a 4-1 4-0 win over Matt Hoang, but NETA were too strong in the end.
SDTA and EDTA enjoyed a hard-fought battle in the Girls draw. Jacqui Scott put SDTA ahead early with a 4-2 4-3 win against Alana Repanich. Meeka Marshall of EDTA had a 4-3 3-4 4-0 win against Ebony Harper. SDTA secured a 4 rubbers to 2 victory after Lucy Eaton and Ebony Harper defeated Rita Zhitsova and Angela Galentomas 4-2 3-4 4-3 in a very tight match.
HTA defeated GDTA 6-0. Olivia Hughes defeated Olivia Manzie 4-2 4-1, whilst Emily Nairn defeated Caitlyn Hedger 4-2 4-1 to set-up the win.
WDTA had a 6-0 win against NETA in the final match. Maggie Pearce had a 4-0 4-1 over Michiko Trebilco, whilst Millie Pearce and Caitlyn Wyatt had a 4-1 4-2 win against Taylor Hoffman and Maddison Wilson.
In the final round action, SDTA boys had a 6-0 victory against GDTA. Josh Laka enjoyed a 4-0 4-1 victory over Pierce Hynes. Jock Piper also had a victory for SDTA, defeating Seth Henderson 4-2 4-0 to lead SDTA to a win.
HTA defeated WDTA 4-2. Brandon Wall started brightly for HTA, with a 3-4 4-2 4-2 win against Nikolai Dobrovolski. Nicholas Brown and Harrison Paton fought gallantly for WDTA in the doubles, claiming a 2-4 4-2 4-3 win over Matt Casey and Cameron Hutchesson.
In the closest contest of the 2015 Junior ATL so far, NETA claimed a win against EDTA on games after both teams won 3 rubbers. Dale Nixon put NETA in a commanding position early with a 4-0 4-0 win against David Wang, but EDTA fought all the way. David Jung defeated Chris Hoang 4-2 4-1.
Bradley Smith of NETA won a very long singles match against Callum Gale 3-4 4-3 4-3. After being 2-2 going into the doubles matches, NETA prevailed by 5 games overall after Bradley Smith and Chris Hoang defeated Jack Wu and David Jung 4-0 4-2.
EDTA defeated NETA 6-0 in the Girls final round draw. Angela Galentomas defeated Taylor Hoffman 1-4 4-2 4-1, before joining Meeka Marshall to defeat Taylor Hoffman and Audrey Christiansen 4-0 4-0.
Michiko Trebilco and Natalie Quast were gallant in defeat for NETA, eventually going down 4-2 4-2 to Alana Repanich and Hayley Waterman.
WDTA had a 6-0 win against HTA. Maggie Pearce defeated Olivia Hughes 4-0 4-0 to set the scene for WDTA. Jacquie Smith and Maddie Hughes of HTA pushed Millie Pearce and Caitlyn Wyatt all the way in their doubles encounter, with Millie and Caitlyn winning 4-3 4-3.
SDTA defeated GDTA 6-0. Lauren Ward of SDTA defeated Jayne Hedger 4-3 4-2 in a close encounter. Olivia Manzie also fought hard for GDTA, eventually going down 4-2 4-3 to Jacqui Scott.
Ebony Harper and Lauren Ward defeated Charlotte Thomas and Jayne Hedger 4-0 4-3 in the doubles to confirm the 6-0 win for SDTA.
