The 2015/16 State League season is set to return after a one week absence due to last weekend’s heat and will be full of exciting match ups. In the women’s competition the top placed Drive team will be looking to further enhance their ladder leading position when they take on the third placed Prospect. Prospect will be desperate for the win to try and consolidate their spot in the top four with only five matches remaining.

Tea Tree Gully will be looking for a big win when they take on bottom placed West Lakes, West Lakes have struggled to get their best team on the court so far this year and will be up against it when they take on a TTG team looking to challenge The Drive for top spot on the State League ladder.

In what should shapes as a mini final, Glenlea will take on Kingswood in a match Kingswood cannot afford to lose as they strive to keep in touch with the top four. Glenlea will be looking to push well into the top four with an eye on a top two spot by seasons end.

In the men’s competition the match of the round is expected to be third placed Collingrove taking on seventh placed Tea Tree Gully.  Collingrove have been super impressive in their return to the State League this season and a win over TTG will cement their spot in the top four and make it very hard for Tea Tree Gully to recover and make a top four berth possible. Matt Teivans and Sean Page will be a great match up for TTG’s top two placed players Tyson Devine and Josh Crowe.

With only one point separating Trinity in second spot and The Drive in fourth spot, their match this weekend will go a long way to determining who will challenge Broadview for top spot on the ladder. Trinity are a consistent performer while The Drive will be looking to reinvigorate their team in the second part of the season after losing young gun Yuya Ito to US College commitments for the remainder of the season.

Glenlea will be looking to boost their top four aspirations when they take on cellar dweller Golden Grove on Saturday, Glenlea will be aiming for a commanding victory to get them within striking distance of a top four berth as the season continues to tighten up.

Seaside will have their work cut out when they take on top placed Broadview. Seaside are sitting in sixth spot and another loss will make it hard for them to snare a top four birth. Broadview will be looking to consolidate their spot at the top of the ladder.
