Day 5 has been another fantastic day of tennis at Next Generation Memorial Drive.
In the 12/u boys, hometown boy and number one seed Edward Vo defeated Derek Pham (WA) 6-1 6-3 booking himself a place in the final against second seed Haru Sonton (QLD) who defeated [4] William Hatzis (NSW) in a tough encounter 6-4 0-6 6-4 . In the girls, [7] Talia Gibson (WA) defeated top seed Lara Walker (QLD) 3-6 7-6(3) 7-6(5), whilst [2] Anastasia Berezov (NSW) had a comfortable win over sixth seed Lauren Nikoloski (WA) 6-2 6-2.
In the 14/u boys, Stefan Storch continued his run to the final defeating South Australia’s third seed Sebastian Flock 6-1 7-6(1) and will now meet second seed William Hann (WA) after he eliminated [4] Stefan Milenkovic (VIC) 6-4 6-4. In the girls, number one seed Annerly Poulos (ACT) defeated [8] Tiana Glazbrook (SA) 6-1 6-2, whilst [3] Crystal Mildwaters (WA) emerged victorious over [5] Caitlyn Portela (NSW) 1-6 6-3 6-2.
In the 12/u doubles, [2] Taj Hibbert and Rowan Mendis (NSW/VIC) defeated Thomas Hann and Jed Plunkett-Smith (TAS) 6-2 6-4 to win the boys, whilst top seeds Emily Ioannou and Lara Walker (VIC/QLD) overcame [2] Catherine Aulia and Taylah Lawless (NSW) 6-3 5-7 10-8 to win the girls. In the 14s, [2] Stefan Milenkovic and Stefan Storch (VIC) defeated top seeds William Hann and Nikita Volonski (WA/NSW) 6-3 3-6 10-7 to win the boys and [2] Krystal Clarke and Natasha Russell (NSW/SA) defeated Kristina Lane and Cyan Sun (QLD) 4-6 6-3 10-5 to win the girls.
Day 6 will be singles finals day, with boys matches starting at 9:30 am and girls matches to follow at 11:00 am.
