Tennis SA is pleased to advise that Marek Carls has been appointed as our new Participation Leader (PL) at Tennis SA.
Marek started work on Monday 11 April, taking over the North West region which was previously lead by Warren Foote, who accepted a new Tennis SA role in January as the Coach Development Manager (SA).
Marek’s strong passion for tennis has afforded him significant experience in tennis club management through the Modbury Tennis Club, where, since 2008, he has held the executive positions Club Captain, Secretary, Junior Coordinator and now President.
Since completing a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Adelaide, Marek has been employed as a Project Engineer at Sekisui Rib Loc Australia, leading small teams in completing installation projects.
This role, along with his exceptional and dedicated work with the Modbury Tennis Club, lead us to identify Marek as the outstanding candidate for the position.
We are looking forward to Marek continuing the great work done by Warren to develop relationships and deliver genuine benefit for our clubs and associations in the West Coast and Upper North areas of the state, as well as the western and eastern suburbs of Adelaide.
Marek will join the Participation Team, made up of the current PLs – Anne-Marie Handke, Andy Wilson and Ian Barry, all of whom have extended relationships and support beyond any previous efforts, which is resulting in great outcomes, in particularly with MyTennis, FAST4 Tennis, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots and the SA Government club governance program, STARCLUB.
Welcome Marek!
