The 2016 School Sport Australia Tennis Championships (Jack Pizzey Cup) was an outstanding success in all aspects, with all games being played in an excellent spirit. Competitors and team management are to be congratulated on their co-operation and assistance throughout the week. The standard of competition was extremely high as was the behaviour of the players both on and off the courts.

Date and Venue
The 2016 School Sport Australia Tennis Championships (Jack Pizzey Cup) were conducted from Saturday April 30 to Saturday 7 May 2016 at Albury Tennis Club home of the Margaret Court Tennis Academy.

Teams Competing
The championships featured representation from all States and one territory:- Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.

Results
New South Wales retained the Jack Pizzey Cup for the 8th year in a row. Victoria again finished runner-up and Western Australia topped of a great week finishing third. South Australia finished fifth, ahead of ACT and Tasmania.

The Tennis Australia Cup was played with the girls’ winner being Linda Huang from NSW and runner-up was Lisa Mays also from NSW. The boys’ event was won by Daniel Groom from Tasmania with the runner-up being Georgije Babic from NSW.

The winners of the consolation, the Kevin Horrigan Plate were David Abfalter from South Australia and Jasmin Starr from Victoria.
