TennisFest has got off to a spectacular start on Day 1 with Australian Open trophy visits, Sets in the City and a Junior State League Super Round.

Australian Open trophies

The Australian Open trophies, Norm and Daph, started the day with a breakfast radio appearance at 891 ABC Adelaide with Matthew Abraham and David Bevan. They then went back to school, visiting some very excited junior school students at Prince Alfred College, St Dominic’s Priory College and St Ignatius’ College. In the afternoon, Norm and Daph made a special visit to the families currently residing at Ronald McDonald House Adelaide.

Sets in the City

The very first Sets in the City social tennis night at Next Generation Memorial Drive was a roaring success.

Congratulations to pool winners, Belles of the Ball in the ‘Could have been Wimbledon Champions’ division and RLB Blue, The Boys are Back in Town and Taylor Collison in the ‘We Rock at Wii Tennis’ division.

Junior State League Super Round

Junior State League girls teams took part in a special TennisFest Super Round held at Peake Gardens Riverside Tennis Club and were treated to a visit from Norm and Daph to start the night.

Schedule: Saturday 19 November

Tomorrow will see Drive Tennis played at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre and Next Generation Memorial Drive starting at 8:30 am. Also in the morning, the South Australian Tennis Championships for Players with an Intellectual Disability will kick off 9:00 am. In the afternoon, a State League Super Round will hit the grass courts at Next Generation Memorial Drive starting at 1:00 pm. The Australian Open trophies will also be on display at various times between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Next Generation Memorial Drive.
