What an amazing day it has been at TennisFest Super Sunday!

Angus Thomson Cup

The day started with the final rounds of the Angus Thomson Cup. There were some close results across the board with Western Districts Tennis Association emerging victorious winning the girls and Eastern Districts Tennis Association winning the boys.

Super 10s

Our Super 10s teams also put on a spectacular display of tennis in the morning. After some tough, hard fought matches, Teams Kvitova and Williams drew for the girls title, whilst Team Murray won the boys.

TennisFest Wheelchair Open

The TennisFest Wheelchair Open saw players take part in a coaching session and matches on the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre Courts, with great fun had by all.

South Australian Tennis Championships for Players with an Intellectual Disability

The South Australian Tennis Championships for Players with an Intellectual Disability were completed today with Carla Lenarduzzi and Mitchell James taking home the singles titles.

Red Ball Rumble

Red Ball Rumble was a huge success and a great time was had by all! We even had some clowns and players with some fancy hats join in, with team ‘Alice and PH’ winning the Best Dressed award.

State League Grand Final rematch

In the State League Grand Final rematch, Broadview defended their title with a victory over Collingrove, whilst in the women’s Memorial Drive took their revenge over Glenlea.

Interactive Zone, Demonstration and Showcase Courts

Our Interactive Zone was busy throughout the day with the Wilson World Demo Tour, DG Sports, Woolworths Ballkids, Speed Serve and Hit the Target a hit.

On our Demonstration Court, we saw ANZ Tennis Hot Shots and Fitbit Cardio Tennis sessions, along with a fun (and slightly competitive) FAST4 Tennis match between Eddie Vo and Terry Karahalios. For the record, Eddie won, but we are sure this isn’t the last we are going to hear of it!

The Showcase Courts had a busy day with the Wilson World Demo Tour and Grange Lawn Tennis Club Move It Multicultural Programs in action.

Tennis SA President’s Lunch

The inaugural President’s Lunch was hosted by the President of the Tennis SA Board, Mr Kent Thiele and saw Association Presidents and Secretaries celebrate TennisFest and enjoy lunch together before joining the action on court level.

Australian Open trophies

The Australian Open trophies, Norm and Daph, had a busy day meeting and greeting all of the Super Sunday participants.
