Tennis SA CEO Steven Baldas officially opened South Australia’s first keypad access tennis venue at the North Adelaide-based State Training Facility at 11am Thursday 24 November.
The courts are located at the corner of War Memorial Drive and Montefiore Road, North Adelaide.
Book a Court, a Tennis Australia pilot program, features electronic gate access and online booking capabilities.
The new technology will allow greater access to community tennis facilities as patrons can book and pay for their court online, and then receive a personalised code to provide access to the gate. The system allows community facilities to meet modern consumer expectations while also decreasing administration work on club volunteers.
The installation of Book a Court at the State Training Facility has been supported by Tennis Australia, Tennis SA and the Adelaide City Council, with the launch set to coincide with the conclusion of Tennis SA’s week-long TennisFest.
An additional four venues are expected to come online in mid-2017.
