At the WTC Legends’ Lunch held on Wednesday 11 January at the Adelaide Convention Centre, three South Australian former tennis greats were inducted to the South Australian Legends Club.

Barry McMillan tennis career peaked in 1967 when he played in the Australian Open. However, it was after his playing career ended this his impact on tennis was made. Through Barry’s leadership as Chief Executive of Tennis SA, Tennis Manager at Tennis Australia and Chief Executive of McDonalds Junior Tennis Australia, he introduced sponsorship to tennis programs and was able to develop and set up a number of junior tennis programs and camps at a National level.

Paul Baccanello retired from professional tennis in 2007, having won four Futures singles titles and peaking with a second-round appearance at Wimbledon in 2003. His highest singles ranking was No.129 in November 2003, and in doubles he was ranked No.169 in June 2003.

Luke Smith played collegiate tennis with the University of Nevada Las Vegas Rebels and won both the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 singles and doubles titles in 1997.  His highest singles ranking was No. 363 in November 1997, and in doubles was ranked No. 155 in June 2001. Luke has since been coaching for over 10yrs at Next Gen Health & Lifestyle Club, Adelaide.
