Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia is expected to be the highest ranked player in the main draw and leads the international contingent. The current world No.188 has won six ITF singles titles, including two titles most recently in Scottsdale and Waco in 2016.
Japan’s Eri Hozumi will also be travelling to South Australia. Hozumi reached a career high singles ranking of 144 in November 2014 and currently sits at 197. Whilst Hozumi has claimed three singles titles in the past, she is also an accomplished doubles player and has won 17 ITF Futures titles.
