First time pairing Genevieve Lorbergs and Beatriz Haddad-Maia have come through doubles qualifying to win the 2017 Honeycomb.Design Clare Valley Tennis International Doubles Title defeating Erika Sema and Alison Bai in a tough two set match played in front of a strong crowd at the Clare Tennis Club. Brazillian Haddad-Maia and Victorian Lorbergs had a dream tournament after meeting for the first time at the start of the week after they agreed to pair up over Facebook.

In the singles event, 16 year old Australian Destanee Aiava has moved through to the Semi Finals of the Honeycomb.Design Clare Valley Tennis International after defeating Viktoria Kozmova 6-3 6-4. Aiava will take on number one seed Haddad-Maia who was also impressive in her win over American qualifier Catherine Harrison.

Tessah Andrianjafitrimo won the all French battle when she proved too strong from the baseline for Sherazad Reix. Andrianjafitrimo will now play Czech Marketa Vondrousova who made light work of Brit Katy Boulder winning 6-1 6-1.

Today’s Semi Finals will be played from 11am.
