The weather has not been kind to us, however all scheduled matches have been completed on Day 2 of the 2017 12/u and 14/u Australian Grasscourt Championships.

In the 12/u Girls, top seed Hana Sonton (QLD) was forced to work hard for her win over South Australia’s Meeka Marshall 6-1 5-7 6-1, whilst [2] Catherina Aulia (NSW) took a more straight forward victory over Jessie Culley (WA) 6-2 6-4. Top seed in the 12/u Boys, Jeremy Jin (NSW) moved through to the quarterfinals with a win over Zachary Viiala (WA) 7-5 7-5, with second seeded South Australian Edward Winter taking a convincing straight sets win over Haruto Ishikawa (NSW) 6-2 6-1.

Top seeded Tina Smith (QLD) took a 6-4 7-6(4) victory over Cydney Crumbie (SA) in the 14/u Girls, with South Australians Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz and Maggie Pearce both following suit with tough victories over three sets. In the 14/u Boys, top seed Chen Dong (QLD) was defeated in straight sets by Rahul Desai (NSW) 6-4 6-3, whilst second seed Philip Sekulic (QLD) defeated Luka Brown (WA) 5-7 6-0 6-4.

South Australia’s Doni Gashi, Alana Repanich and Callum Gale have all made their way through to the quarterfinals to be played on Tuesday.

Day 3 will be a doubles feature day, with matches starting at 9.30 am.
