The 2017/18 Metro League Season is due to get underway on October 14 with thirty two men’s teams over four divisions and eleven women’s teams over two divisions. Venues all over Adelaide will be bursting at the seams when teams take to court for round one.
The increasing numbers of nominated teams has seen the expansion of divisions. Four new clubs are being welcomed to the competition this season: Hallett Cove Beach, Marion, Para Hills and Port Adelaide.
In the Men’s Division 1 competition Prospect Tennis Club will look to go back to back after winning the final in the previous season. Going into season 2017 /18 all eyes will be on this team as the reigning premiers.
Phantom tipsters is predicting the Goodwood Tennis Club lead by Mislav Bosnjak and Hallet Cove Beach Tennis Club lead by Dean Carter will be hot favourites for this season’s Final.
The Women’s Division 1 competition will see a whole new list of teams competing for their first final appearance.
Phantom tipsters is predicting the Golden Grove Tennis Club lead by Ivana Draskovic and Denman Dark Blue Tennis Club lead by Casey Anspach will be seeing each other in the final.
Tennis SA CEO, Steve Baldas, shares in the delight of such a vibrant Metro League and stated “It’s great to see the Metro League go strength to strength with increased participants competing in this great event”.
