We are proud to have two Tennis representatives be selected as finalists in the 2017 South Australian Sports Awards. Congratulations to Tennis SA CEO, Steve Baldas on being selected as a finalist for the Administrator of the Year award and Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz on being selected as a finalist for the Richard Newman Primary School Sports Award.
Steve has continued to refine and sharpen his effectiveness in his role as CEO, where he has consulted and valued the opinions of those from grass roots to the elite side of tennis at local, state and national levels. His relationships with business, government and the community sectors have enabled tennis to be viewed as a key contributor to the social capital of the South Australian community.
Charlotte won the School Sports Award in 2015 as a 10 year old. In 2017 Charlotte was selected to represent Australia at the ITF Junior World U14 Teams finals in the Czech Republic as a 12 year old. She was also selected for the Tennis Australia tour of Germany competing in 3 Tennis Europe events in the U14 category. She is the current 12 and under Australian Champion and was a finalist in the U14 Australian Grasscourt Championships being the youngest competitor in the field.
