In the Women’s competition The Drive remain unchanged on the ladder as they continue to show their dominance in the competition winning again in Round 7.

The Drives number two Melissa Beadman and three Alana Repanich were pushed to third sets but held strong in the third, While Number one and four Melanie Clayton and Lucy Steinburner won in straight sets. This followed through into the doubles winning six rubbers to love.

Kingswood came out firing against Flagstaff Hill when number one and two Nikki Milner and Tiana Glazbrook won their respective singles. Number three Cydney Crumbie played a closely contested singles match against Kingswood’s Nicole Kraemer, winning in three sets while Flagstaff Hill’s Ebony Harper held strong at number four winning in straight sets.

With Singles split heading into the doubles, it was Flagstaff Hill who took the most of their opportunities winning both doubles in tightly contested third set match tie breaks. Flagstaff Hill walked away with a four rubbers to two win, putting Flagstaff Hill back into contention after a slow start to the season.

Trinity Gardens continue to win matches when lead by Amber Marshall. Trinity Gardens took the match to two rubbers all against Seaside after the singles who were missing their number one player Selina Turulja.

In a weekend of tightly contested double match-ups it was Marshall who paired with Jiey Chen who came out on top defeating Seaside’s Paring of Tahlia van der Eerden and Maggie Peace in a match tie break 10-7.

This was then followed by a dominant performance from the Petrov sisters winning in straight sets, handing Trinity a four rubbers to two victory.

In the Mens competition The Drive were without their number one player Stefan Norodom when they came up against a dominant Trinity Gardens team who look to have all the answers at the moment. With all players putting in their best efforts, Trinity Gardens took a comfortable six rubbers to love victory.

Tea Tree Gully continue to put the pressure on Trinity Gardens as they sit just below them on the ladder. This was no different in round 7 when they came up against Glenlea. Tea Tree Gully’s number one Tyson Devine was pushed by in form Sam May winning in three sets. This winning form continued through to number two when Steve Sando put on a show defeating Heath Johnston.

Glenlea’s three and four Stefan Bianchet and Craig Bankes gave their team a chance when winning their respective matches. Tea Tree Gully locked in the four premiership points after winning both doubles in straight sets, handing the team a four rubber to two win.

The Match of the round was battled out between two young teams in Kingswood and Collingrove. Kingswood’s Number one Josh Laka took charge when defeating Matt Teivans in straight sets, which was then followed by number two Sean Van Rensburg defeating Oliver Douglas. Collingrove’s Sam Holland-Smith brought Collingrove back into the match when defeating Sam Gericke in three sets while Patrick Douglas came out strong against Kingswood’s Jared Waterman winning the first set but then had to retire handing Waterman the next two sets.

Collingrove brought experience to the table when Teivans paired with Jay Laginestra in the top doubles against Laka and Van Rensburg. The experience and doubles knowledge of Collingrove was too good for the young pairing of Kingswood winning in three sets. Douglas and Holland-Smith also took out their respective double bringing the match to three rubbers all.

After the count back it was Kingswood who prevailed as the winning team downing Collingrove by one set and two games.
