Sam Von Einem (Glengowrie, SA) has today claimed the Mixed Doubles title at the Australian Tennis Championships for Players with an Intellectual Disability, held at Melbourne Park as part of the Australian Open.
Von Einem and partner, Yasmin Sanders (Qld), defeated top seeds and reigning INAS World Mixed Doubles Champions Damian Phillips (NSW) and Kelly Wren 5-3 4-1 to claim the title.
Earlier today, Von Einem recorded a 6-2 victory over Joshua Holloway (Qld) in the semifinals and will now take on second seed, reigning World Champion Archie Graham (Qld) in the Singles final tomorrow, aiming to bring home back-to-back Australian Tennis Championships Singles titles.
