Day 3 at the City of Playford Tennis International saw the top seeds begin their campaigns, with Lorenzo Sonego (ITA) taking a 6-3 6-4 victory over Zdenek Kolar (CZE) and Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov (ESP) defeating Jennifer Elie (USA) 6-3 6-3. Australia’s Belinda Woolcock (Vic) also made her way through to the second round with a 6-4 6-4 win over seventh seed Martina Trevisan (ITA).
Day 4 will see Sonego take to Centre Court for the first time, followed by second seed Casper Ruud (NOR). Australia’s Belinda Woolcock (Vic), Kaylah McPhee (Qld) and Isabelle Wallace (Vic) will headline the women’s matches, with play from 10.00 am.
