On Sunday 24 February Tennis SA President, Kent Thiele and Tennis SA CEO, Steve Baldas attended the Centenary Celebration event at Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis Club.
It was well supported by over 200 current and former members, and included speeches by the Chairman of the Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis Club Board of Management, Burnside City Council Mayoress Anne Monceaux and the Deputy Premier Vicky Chapman.
Another highlight of the function was the official opening of the 50 year time capsule located inside the wall of the club rooms. They found a great number of interesting treasures, including an Advertiser from 1969 of which the front page story was the landing on the moon by Neil Armstrong!
The celebrations will continue on 6.30pm Saturday 4 May, all are welcome to attend the Centenary Dinner Dance at the Burnside Town Hall. Information and tickets available here.
Congratulations Kensi on this wonderful achievement.
