The first South Australian Junior International has come to a conclusion today, with Janice Tjen (INA) and James McCabe (NSW) crowned the inaugural champions at Next Generation Memorial Drive in Adelaide today.
Tjen, the number one seed in the girls’ championship, defeated 13-year-old Western Australian Taylah Preston 6-4 2-6 6-3 in a tight battle. In the boys’ championship, unseeded McCabe dug deep to get past fourth seed Derek Pham (WA) in two tough sets, 6-4 6-2.
The action will continue at Memorial Drive from Saturday, with matches for the second South Australia Junior International due to begin at 9.00 am.

The South Australian Junior Internationals are taking place at Next Generation Memorial Drive, North Adelaide, South Australia from 14 September 2019 to 27 September 2019.
The ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors is a series of international junior tennis tournaments open worldwide to successful national standard competitors. The circuit gives players the opportunity to compete against the best players from other nations. It also provides experience of international competitions, as a junior player transitions into a career in professional tennis.
