The roof of the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment has begun to take shape with the first two roof trusses now installed.
The Northern and Southern Transfer Trusses each weighed a total of 62 tonnes and are 66 metres in length.
Each truss was made up of three components, taking a total of 10 hours to travel to the construction site from SA Structural Head Office in Edinburgh, with a full escort from South Australia Police and SA Power Networks.
Six of the 24 roof pieces are now on site, with the remaining 18 pieces set to make up the six canoe trusses running north-south in the coming weeks.
Completion of the roof is expected in mid-December ready for the Adelaide International, 12-18 January 2020.
