Congratulations to our
Volunteers of the Month for November, Bruce Tonkin and Bruno Carcuro.
Bruce Tonkin joined the Modbury Tennis Club committee in 2006, where he worked his way up from Junior Coordinator to Club Secretary, and now sits as President of the club.
Throughout his time as President, Bruce has led the project of resurfacing all Modbury courts which were completed this year, thanks to a whopping $190k in grants and lobbying with the local council.
Being a jack of all trades, you’ll find Bruce’s smiling face presiding over the club’s operations one minute and lending a hand behind the canteen the next – no job is too big or small!
Bruce’s main goal is to create a vibrant and fun social club atmosphere that is inclusive of all ages, genders and ability. His club vision, dedication and initiatives to drive success are a strong asset for Modbury Tennis Club.
Congratulations Bruce!
Bruno Carcuro first joined the Port Augusta Tennis Association committee
when he was 17, and after some time off he returned as a coach and was
appointed as Secretary, a title he has held since 2013.
In partnership with the Westside
Tennis Club, Bruno and his team put in great effort to get new lights installed
for their courts. All the clubs contributed and helped achieve the goal that
modernized tennis in Port Augusta.
Bruno loves the camaraderie
and team aspect of the club – whether you’re a ball kid, foundation cup player
or playing locally, he enjoys seeing the club’s young tennis players work hard
and apply themselves to represent Port Augusta Tennis with pride.
Congratulations Bruno!
