Tennis SA is thrilled to announce the 11/u, 13/u and 15/u teams set to compete in the 2021 Australian Teams Championships presented by Kia being held at KDV Sport in Carrara, Queensland starting tomorrow.
From 25-29 June, the tournament will see teams competing in the 11/u and 13/u championships, with 15/u teams set to compete from 1-4 July.
Fifty-one elite girls’ and boys’ teams will compete, representing each Australian state and territory, with players also travelling from New Zealand for the tournament.
South Australia has an impressive history in the event, with the likes of Alicia Molik, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Luke Saville having represented the state.
The South Australian team is this year being supported by the Ken McGregor Fund, with more players being given the opportunity to travel interstate and represent South Australia following a break due to COVID-19 in 2020.
“We are pleased to announce the teams representing South Australia in the 2021 Australian Teams Championships,” said National Development Squad Coach, Sandon Stolle.
“Our state has had great success in this event in the past. We wish our players the very best and look forward to a great tournament in Queensland.”
“This tournament is a wonderful opportunity for our South Australian players to represent our state on a national level,” said Tennis SA CEO, Debbie Sterrey.
“We look forward to following their results and wish all players the very best of luck for the week ahead.”
