Tennis SA is releasing a new strategic plan for 2021-2024 that will drive grassroots participation, along with the utilisation of the newly-redeveloped Memorial Drive venue. In line with this we have restructured our team to best suit our strategy moving forward.

Attracting new players and strengthening the pathway from schools to club continues to be a key focus. With this in mind, Shane Leathem has taken up a Schools and Pathways Lead role as part of the Tennis Development Team and is joined by Schools Trainee, Corey Tugwell. Amy Sneath has also moved in to a new role within this team as Women and Girls/Program Pathway Coordinator, aiming to drive participation and improve the retention of women and girls in tennis.

Competitive Play continues to be the cornerstone of our business and we welcome Jacinta O’Loughlin to the Tournaments, Competitions and Officiating Team as Tournaments Trainee.

As the world-class Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment progresses, Caitlin Magill has moved in to the role of Operations Lead for the Memorial Drive venue after focussing on the Adelaide International over the past two years. In keeping with this, Andrew Fitzgerald has moved in to the newly created role of Business Development Manager, driving business growth through increasing partnerships across tennis participation and performance programs, pursuing venue specific opportunities and ensuring our alignment with community programs and events.

Following Andrew’s change in role, Sarah Horgan has moved into a Club Development Officer and Facilities position. Sarah is responsible for the clubs in the Metro North region, but also brings her experience from the Places to Play team to focus on the venues and facilities space alongside Head of Tennis Development and Venues Matthew Fitzgerald.

The Head of Operations and Venues role no longer exists and Brett Hidson has chosen to leave Tennis SA to pursue new opportunities. We sincerely thank Brett for his contribution to Tennis SA over the past six years, including roles in the Participation, Venues and Operations departments, along with the Memorial Drive Anchor Project and both Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopments. We wish Brett and his family all the very best for the future.
