The Tennis SA Awards Night will celebrate players, coaches, clubs, schools, communities, volunteers and officials for their service to the sport in South Australia over the past 12 months.

The event will be held on Saturday 30 April at the Adelaide Convention Centre Panorama Ballroom, with Tom Rehn to host alongside Tennis SA’s Shane Leathem.

“We are thrilled to have received a record number of nominations for the Tennis SA Awards Night,” Tennis SA CEO Debbie Sterrey said.

“The nominations were of a very high quality and the volume of nominations truly highlights the outstanding work happening around the state.

“We are pleased to announce our finalists today and thank all who submitted nominations.

“We are really looking forward to the Tennis SA Awards Night later this month.”

Most Outstanding 30+ Tennis Senior
Finalists: Robert Bickmore, Ian Delbridge

Most Outstanding Inclusion Program
Finalists: Francy Kyriacou (Break Back), Craig Palfrey (Wheelchair Tennis), SA Blind and Low Vision Tennis Program

Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability
Finalists: Jarrad Catalano, Hallam Chitty, Ethan Cook

Most Outstanding Club-based Competition
Finalists: Enfield Tennis Club, Greenacres Tennis Club, McLaren Vale Tennis Club

Most Outstanding School
Finalists: Loxton Primary School, South Australian School and Services for Vision Impaired, Torrens Valley Christian School

Coaching Excellence – Development
Finalists: Domenic Marafiote (East Torrens Kensington Gardens Tennis Club), Craig Mousley (Golden Grove Tennis Club), Sam Wall (Coromandel Valley Tennis Club)

Coaching Excellence – Club
Finalists: David Grainger (Henley South Tennis Club), Domenic Marafiote (East Torrens Kensington Gardens Tennis Club), Craig Mousley (Golden Grove Tennis Club)

Coaching Excellence – Rural
Finalists: Sam Clayson (Clare Tennis Club), Erica Modra (Southern Fleurieu region), John Pick (Riverland region) 

Volunteer Achievement Award – City/Hills
Finalists: Paul Crisanti (Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club), Adam Kauschke (Enfield Tennis Club), Brandon Oster (Enfield Tennis Club and North East Tennis Association)

Volunteer Achievement Award – Rural
Finalists: Justin Bannear (Barmera Tennis Club), Eliza Handbury (Lucindale Tennis Club), Julie Polkinghorne (Port Lincoln Tennis Association)

Most Outstanding Tennis Club – City/Hills
Finalists: Golden Grove Tennis Club, Reade Park Lawn Tennis Club, Warradale Park Tennis Club

Most Outstanding Tennis Club – Rural
Finalists: Barmera Tennis Club, Cudlee Creek Tennis Club

Winners of the following awards will also be announced on the night:

  • Doris Boyce Medal (best and fairest female tennis player)
  • Ray Burr Medal (best and fairest male tennis player)
  • Gwen Thiele Memorial Trophy (best 18/u female tennis player)
  • Don Turnbull Trophy (best 18/u male tennis player)
  • Excellence in Officiating
  • Most Outstanding Council or Government Department

The Tennis SA State League and Metro League premiership winners and award winners will also be presented on the night.
