The second UTR Pro Tennis Tour tournament at Next Generation Memorial Drive has wrapped this afternoon with Monique Barry (NZL) and Dayne Kelly (Vic) claiming the titles.
In the women’s, Barry defeated last week’s champion Katherine Westbury (NZL) 6-1 7-6(4) in just under two hours to win her maiden UTR Pro Tennis Tour title.
“This is my first UTR title, so I’m really excited and proud of myself. I had to step up mentally and physically in the second week, but I got through it and I am stoked,” Barry said.
“It was a really tough match today. I had a good start in the first set, I felt confident and I was going for my shots. Katherine stepped up in the second set and it was more competitive between the both of us, but I got through it and won those important points.”
In the men’s, Kelly defeated Ken Cavrak (Vic) 6-3 6-3 in an hour and 20 minutes to claim back-to-back titles.
“It was good to get through today’s match,” Kelly said.
“I felt a bit of pressure with Ken playing so well, he was playing pretty aggressive, so I was happy to get through it. It was good to execute what I wanted to do over the past two weeks.”
“Congratulations to Dayne and Monique, along with Katherine for an outstanding two weeks here in Adelaide,” said Tournament Director, Emily Smith.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed having the UTR Pro Tennis Tour back in South Australia.
“Our sincere thanks to Next Generation Memorial Drive for hosting the tournaments over the past fortnight.”

What is a UTR?
Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is an international tennis rating system that connects millions of tennis players around the world to help them find better matches locally. UTR reflects a player’s current skill level based on head-to-head match scores, and rates all players across age, gender and nationality on the same 16-point scale. Every player can have a UTR – from the pros to juniors to social tennis players.
