As part of the Queen’s Birthday 2022 Honours List, Pauline Fielden has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
Fielden first jumped on court at the East Torrens Kensington Gardens Tennis Club 69 years ago, at the age of 11. A seven-time premiership player, Fielden continues to play competitively for the club until this day, while also being involved in Tennis Seniors of South Australia, the Australian Seniors Tennis Championships and mid-week ladies social tennis.
It is an impressive playing record, however it is Fielden’s commitment to volunteering for over six decades that is truly remarkable.
A stalwart of the club, Fielden has taken on a variety of roles including President and junior tennis coordinator, has been a committee member for over 15 years and is a Life Member.
Fielden is a much loved member of the East Torrens Kensington Gardens Tennis Club community and this award recognises a lifetime contribution to sport in South Australia.
On behalf of the South Australian tennis community, congratulations Pauline Fielden OAM.
