Inclusion goes to the very heart of tennis, and we are proud to be a sport that is open for all.
Guided by our Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Board of Tennis SA supports the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution through the Voice referendum.
We are currently working on the next phase of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to further support First Nations people in tennis, and we believe activities driven through our RAP can be enablers for First Nations people to achieve the wider community benefits of true reconciliation outside of tennis or sport in general.
We believe that it is only through respectful community engagement, listening, education and working together that we can achieve true equity in representation.
We encourage all Australians to learn more about the Voice to Parliament and respect that everyone is entitled to reach their own decision leading up to the referendum.
Regardless of the outcome, we will continue to celebrate, recognise and work closely with First Nations people to help foster better relationships and opportunities.
