The inaugural Best Developing Official award was presented this evening at the annual Officials Christmas Dinner held at West Lakes Tennis Club.
The award is named in honour of much loved official Gavin Dallow who sadly passed away in the White Island tragedy in New Zealand in December 2019.
The award was presented to Adam Spry by Gavin’s sister Meredith, with Gavin’s dad Brian also in attendance.
Retiring official Geof Palmer was also honoured after over 40 years of service.
In this time, he has served as a Line Umpire, Chief of Evaluators and Chief of Umpires. Most recently, he been the Chief of Officials at the City of Playford Tennis International and Assistant Chief of Officials at the Adelaide International.
Palmer was presented with a suitcase ahead of a well deserved holiday planned for next year.
