Q: How long have you been a volunteer?
I have been a player at the GDTA for over 35 years and a sponsor of the association and other Gawler based tennis clubs for over ten years. I am in my third year as President of the GDTA, a role which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Q: Tell us about your favourite part of your role.
I really enjoy getting player feedback and discussing with our coaches and committee the best way to set up local competitions and other tennis programs to ensure we are growing tennis for the enjoyment of all. My role as President also means I am actively involved in our greater local community including liaising with various levels of government which I also enjoy.
Q: Favourite Tennis memory.
My favourite tennis memory was representing and being the Captain of the GDTA as a junior when we played other associations such as Mildura, Clare Valley & Elizabeth/Salisbury many years ago. I also really enjoyed playing country carnival every January as a junior & then as a senior, including winning the A grade team seniors a couple of times representing Barossa, Light & Gawler.
