Green Ball Series
In 2025, the Green Ball Series (GBS) will offer players the opportunity to compete for GBS points throughout the year. These points will create a clear pathway for qualification into the end-of-year State Finals and Nationals.
This initiative is designed to support player development and create exciting opportunities within the sport.
GBS Structure
Players will receive points based on their finishing position within each tournament on the South Australian Junior Tour calendar, contributing to their leaderboard standing.

Points will not be allocated for South Australian Junior Development Series (JDS).
Age Category
The qualifying age category for the Green Ball Series across all tournaments will be 10/u.
Tournament Structure
All GBS Tournaments will be singles only. It is at the discretion of the Tournament whether they will add doubles, however, doubles will not have any points allocated to it.
Points Structure
Each Green Ball Series tournament listed on the endorsed calendar will be assigned the corresponding points for Singles.
- Winner: 250 points
- Runner Up: 125 points
- 3rd and 4th Place: 100 points
- 5th – 8th Place: 75 points
- 9th – 16th (in Elimination playoff’s only): 50 points
- 2nd Place in Round Robin: 30 points
- 3rd Place in Round Robin: 20 points
- 4th Place in Round Robin: 10 points
- 5th and 6th Place in Round Robin: 5 points
Qualifying Period
The points qualifying period for the 2025 GBS will be from Wednesday 1 January 2025 – Sunday 28 September 2025.
State Finals
Age Qualification for GBS State Finals
Players to be in the 2015 birth year or younger (minimum 8 years old at the time of event)
GBS Leaderboards
The Points Race Leaderboards will be published on the following months.
- February, March, May, June and July
The final points race leaderboard will be published in September.
GBS State Finals – Draw Sizes and Acceptance Criteria
South Australia’s top 16 boys and top 16 girls who have showcased their skills in the 2025 Competitive Play Calendar.
Dates: Saturday 4 October – Monday 6 October 2025.
Acceptance lists will be as follows:
- Top 16 players within Points Race Leaderboard
Players will receive an invitation from Tennis South Australia to State Finals.
Note: This opportunity is exclusively for South Australian Players.
Green Ball Nationals
10/u Green Ball Nationals – Qualification Criteria
- Eight boys and eight girls across Australia will receive an invite based on their UTR. All other players will need to qualify through their state qualification process.
- All players who qualify for the event will receive an invitation, which must be accepted in writing.
- There are three spots in the draw per gender. These will be decided by the top three players on the 10/u South Australian Points Race.
- The Points Race will consist of eight tournaments, commencing in January 2025 and concluding in July 2025.
- All eligible players must be an Australian Citizen.
10/u Green Ball Nationals – Event Details
- Date: Monday 29 September-Friday 3 October 2025
- Venue: Henley South Tennis Club (corner Burford Road and Lexington Road, Henley Beach South, South Australia)
- Draw sizes: 32 players (singles), 16 teams (doubles)
- Eligibility: To be eligible to enter the 2025 10/u Green Ball Nationals, you must be 10 years or younger as at the 31 October 2025
- Singles format: 32 players will be split into eight round robin groups of four. At the conclusion of the round robin, the eight group winners will move through to the championship draw, where they will play off for positions (3-4 and 5-8 playoffs will be played). Similarly, all other players will play off for final positions. Players are expected to commit to complete all allocated matches (six singles matches per player)
- Doubles format: A 16-team elimination draw will be played. Doubles will be compulsory for main draw singles players to compete in. An optional ‘mixed doubles match tiebreak shootout’ will be played on Thursday afternoon if scheduling allows.
