The 2015 Strathalbyn Junior Age Tennis Tournament was played from Saturday 26 September to Tuesday 29 September. 102 entrants played 194 matches over the four beautiful sunny days with the finals completed on the Tuesday.
Players and their families came from Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria and all parts of South Australia, and it appeared that the venue and friendly atmosphere was greatly appreciated. The competitors especially enjoyed playing on our newly developed Plexipave blue courts.
The standard of tennis was high with a great display of sportsmanship from the players. There was much talent to be seen at this event.
The Strathalbyn Tennis Club would like to thank all our sponsors including those as listed, for without their support we could not have held such a successful tournament: The Alexandrina Council, Victoria Hotel, Lake Breeze Wines, Bleasdale Wines, IGA Strathalbyn, Glyn Morris, Central Sports, L J Hooker, KTA General Insurance, MITRE 10, Strathalbyn Medical Centre, Strathalbyn Pharmacies, Coopers, Maidments Meat, Italktravel Mt Barker, Strath Motel, The Southern Argus and the National Bank.
The Club would also like to thank all the competitors and their families, Angus Thomson our Tournament Referee and his supporting officials which included Shirley Logan and James Fricker for once again making the tournament a success. Thanks also to Tennis SA for their support in promoting the Tournament and a special thanks to all our dedicated volunteers.
Club President Clive Rafferty congratulated the winners and presented trophies to all successful players.
