It was a successful fortnight for Tasmanian junior Alicia Dale who competed in her first two Junior ITF tournaments on the Gold Coast. Dale was entered as a wild card at the J60 Gold Coast Junior Championships, where she defeated the first and fifth seeds on her way to claim the Girls Singles title over Audrey Aulia 6-1 6-4 in the final.

Dale continued this strong performance the following week at the J60 Mapei Gold Coast Junior International, teaming up with Rianna Alame to win the Girls Doubles title. The pair defeated the first seeds in the Quarter Finals and the second seeds Audrey Aulia/Gabrielle Villegas 6-2 6-3 in the final.

‘It felt surreal to win both a singles and a doubles title in my first two ITF events. It felt like my training and hard work had paid off,’ Dale said.

These two new titles add to the impressive list of accomplishments achieved up by Dale in 2024. She made history by winning the Australia Cup in May, becoming the first Tasmanian girl to do so in 44 years. In February, she also claimed the Pardey Shield. Additionally, she won the Womens Singles titles at the Cygnet Open, Clarence Open, Tasmanian Easter Championships, and Domain Easter Championships.
