The 2010 Hobart Age Tournament was held over the weekend at the Domain Tennis Centre and despite the cold weather high quality tennis was seen from the open events all the way down to the 10 and unders. Record numbers were seen at this year’s event with over 130 competitors playing in either the junior or open events.

Despite cold and sometimes wet resulting in short delays and limited use of the 6 Plexicusion courts available all scheduled matches were played over the three days and players enjoyed the chance to test their ability against a large and high quality field of players in all events.

Andrew Roberts was crowned the Men’s Open champion on Sunday after a 6-0 6-4 win over Launceston’s Ken Ho in a highly anticipated final.  Launceston’s Georgie Carswell took out the Open Women’s event after defeating Victoria’s Laura Kelly on Sunday Morning, Carswell dropped just 2 games all tournament.

Tournament organisers were happy with the successful weekend and are now looking forward to the Tasmanian Open and Junior Masters to be held in early October.
