Jeff Speer has knocked over numerous seeds on his way to winning the 2010 Bushby Tasmanian Easter Championships. Speer defeated the 4th, 7th, 2nd and 1st seeds over the Easter weekend to take out the tournament. Speer faced Cygnet champion and Clarence finalist Richard Wynwood in the semi final Easter Sunday morning and was able to see off the number 2 seed in 3 sets, 7-6, 2-6, 6-2. This set up a final showdown with the in form, number 1 seed Ken Ho, who was fresh from wins at Trevallyn and Clarence. It was another tight 3 set win for Speer taking out the final 7-6, 1-6, 7-5.

Hobart’s Alyssa Hibberd repeated her Clarence performance to win the Easter Championships Title. In Sunday’s final Hibberd again came up against her Clarence Open final opponent Georgina Carswell. Hibberd was able to see off Carswell 6-3, 6-2 to win her second title of the year.

In the junior events, Brandon Rodgers took out the U16’s boys title, Alex Wolff won in the boys U14’s, Ellie Chesterman is the girls U14’a Champion, Georgia Kelly won the girls U12’s title, Victoria’s Mustafa Ibraimi won in the boys U12’s, Jessica Fowler took out the girls U10’s title and Mulugeta Smith won the boys U10’s.
