After competing well for Tasmania at the December Showdown 2012 National Teams event, Sanyukta Singh had a brilliant run through January competing at the Victorian Optus Junior Tour Circuit. 

Sanyukta’s results included the following:

  • Doubles Finalist of 2012 Warrnambool Sungold Junior Grasscourt Open
  •  Singles Finalist of 2013 Australia Post Margaret Court Cup
  • Doubles Finalist of 2013 Australia Post Margaret Court Cup
  •  Singles Winner of 2013 Victorian Grasscourt Championships
  • Doubles Finalist of 2013 Victorian Grasscourt Championships
  •  Singles Winner of 2013 Rising Sun Summer OJT
  • Doubles Winner of 2013 Rising Sun Summer OJT 
  •  Singles Winner of 2013 Geelong Junior Grasscourt Championships 
  • Doubles Finalist of 2013 Geelong Junior Grasscourt Championships

 Sanyukta commented that her performance was very good and peaked right at the end during the Geelong event. “I played particularly well in the 2013 Victorian Grasscourt Championships Singles final (three sets). The weather was extremely hot and humid. My toughest opponents I played on grass were Erika Bollweg, Gabriela Da-Silva Fick, Stephanie Belovukovic and Jessica Zaviacic.  ”

 Sanyukta is a National Academy Scholarship athlete based in Hobart. National Coach TAS Simon Youl says that Sanyukta has dramatically improved over the last 2 months and her consistent results have given her increased confidence in all aspects of her game.
